LEGAL NOTICE

IN THE SUPERIOR COURT OF THE STATE OF ARIZONA IN AND FOR THE COUNTY OF SANTA CRUZ NOTICE

IN THE MATTER OF THE APPLICATION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METHODIST CHURCH SOUTH, OF NOGALES, ARIZONA FOR PERMISSION TO MORTGAGE REAL ESTATE. Notice is hereby given that the Board of Trustees of the Methodist Episcopal Church South, of Nogales, Arizona, has filed in said Court its petition praying that permission be granted them to mortage real estate, to-wit; Lot Four (4) in Block "A" of the Smelter Tract in the City of Nogales, Arizona, said property being described more particularly as follows: Beginning on the northwest line of Grand Avenue at a point 179.9 feet northeasterly from the east line of Potrero Avenue; thence northeasterly along the northwest line of Grand Avenue 39.98 feet; thence at a right angle northwesterly 117 feet; thence at a right angle south=westerly 39.98 feet; thence to the point of beginning; and being a portion of Block "A" of the Smelter Tract Subdivision of Lot Four (4) and part of Lot Two (2) in Block (1) in the City of Nogales, Santa Cruz County, State of Arizona, according to the Map of said Subdivision on file in the office of the Santa Cruz County, to the Nogales Builing & Loan Association, a corporation, for the prupose of securing a loan from said corporation of Three Thousand Two Hundred & no/100 ($3200.00) Dollars, and that Saturday, the 28th day of September, 1929 at the hour of 11:00 o'clock A. M. of said day, or soon thereafter as counsel can be ehard, at the court room of said court in Court House in Nogales, Santa Cruz County, Arizona has been appointed for the hearing of said petition, at which time and place any person interested my appear and show cause why said petition should not be granted.

WORK BEGINS ON $20,000 CHURCH

Work was begun yesterday on construction of the new Methodist Episcopal church at the corner of Grand avenue and Potrero street. The new building will cost approximately $20,000 and will be one of the most beautiful churches in southern Arizona.

Brick, gravel and sand, were hauled to the building site yesterday, and bright and early tomorrow morning a full force of workmen will be put on the brick work.

C. D. Rankin has the contract for the carpenter works, and Hines & Hines the brickwork.


$3,000 CHECK FOR NEW NOGALES CHURCH

A check for $3,000, final payment of their $8,000 donation for the new Methodist church being built in Nogales at Potrero street and Grand avenue, was received Saturday by I. P. Fraizer from the Board of Extension of the Methodist Episcopal Church South Inc.

The check came from the headquarters of the M. E. Church South at Louisville, Ky.

Mr. Fraizer said Saturday that the local church authorities are still looking to the public for a little more financial help in order to complete the new church.
