Victim Of Drowning

Victorm of accidental drowning, Fred M. Castillo, 23-year-old son of Mrs. Concepcion Castillo, 33 Camp Little, Nogales, died in the station hospital at Camp Claiborne, La., at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

A telegram announcing the death, and received by the young soldier's mother from the hospital read: "It is with regret that we inform you that your son, Frederico M. Castillo died in this hospital at 6 p.m. the 13th of June. Cause of death accident drowning."

The body is being shipped here and is expected to arrive by Saturday. Burial is to be in the family plot at the Nogales Cemetery.

An infantryman, Castillo had been at Camp Claiborne since Sept. 15, 1943. He was home on a furlough for 15 days in March and had planned to come here on another furlough next month.

Born at Lochiel July 7, 1920, he attended school at Lochiel and entered the Army Dec. 23, 1942

Besides his mother he is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Jane Owens, Mrs. Rebecca Robles, Mrs. Lupe Eberling, Miss Katie Castillo, and a brother, Benny Castillo.
